hello,

Hormones have profound effects on your mental, physical and emotional health. These chemical messengers play a major role in controlling your appetite, weight and mood, among other things.

Normally, your endocrine glands produce the precise amount of each hormone needed for various processes in your body.

However, hormonal imbalances have become increasingly common with today’s fast-paced modern lifestyle. In addition, certain hormones decline with age and some people experience a more dramatic decrease than others. So what’s a gal to do?

GO BACK TO YOUR ANCESTRAL ROOTS

The power of herbs lies in their protective polyphenols..Poly what?..you might say. Polyphenols are part of the plant compounds that contain robust antioxidant and anti-inflammatory molecules that are easily broken down to help reduce symptoms in the body.

Holy Basil Leaf is a powerhouse herb. Ayurvedically speaking, it’s considered a symbol of fidelity and helpful in attaining spiritual enlightenment.

Biochemically, Holy Basil is an adaptogen (adaptogens help the body respond to stress) that wants equilibrium within the nervous system. Meaning, it can assist in balancing out your stress hormones, assist in brain/ cognitive function and calm the nerves, which aides in your inflammatory response.

Red Raspberry Leaf helps relieve premenstrual symptoms (PMS), such as cramping, vomiting, nausea and diarrhea. It also helps tone and tighten muscles in the pelvic area.

What’s more, one ounce of red raspberry leaves pack 3.3 mg of iron (!), which is 18% of the recommended daily intake for women aged 19–50. Getting enough iron can combat the anemia often experienced by women with heavy menstrual cycles.

Stinging Nettle is a powerful herb has been used as a tonic for centuries. Indigenous women used it throughout pregnancy and as a remedy to stop hemorrhaging during childbirth.

Nettle is considered one of the best women’s all around tonics for the reproductive system, excellent for people just starting their monthly cycle, as well as people entering menopause. It’s packed with vitamins and minerals and helps to keep testosterone circulating freely.

Oatstraw is widely used as a natural diuretic, a gentle tool that may help decrease bloating. Diuretics are also said to be important tools that aid the cleansing process by helping to support the kidneys, urinary tract and excreting excess hormones.

Oatstaw is an excellent source of B vitamins, nutrients essential for energy production and mood stabilization, and calcium needed for bone strength. Oat straw is also used to calm the nervous system, relief anxiety, and reduce irritation.

Ashwagandha is an herb with a long history as an adaptogen and has been a staple of traditional Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years, but it seems to have arrived at just the right moment for our fast-paced modern age.

The main active plant compounds in ashwagandha are called withanolides. They can act as hormone precursors in the body, converting into human hormones as needed to help regulate physiological processes. Meaning, it helps reduce cortisol, enhance brain function and stabalize blood sugar levels.
