Homemade Nut Mylks 4 Ways

Homemade nut milk or “mylk” may seem daunting but its actually quite simple. All you need is a nut mylk bag, water, nuts/seeds, and a blender.

The reason I encourage you to give this a try is because making your own almond milk, cashew milk, oat milk, etc., can help you save money but also is way better for your body. Many of the plant-based milks on the market contain sketchy ingredients, fillers, and preservatives.

These ingredients can also be hard on your digestive system so if you have gut health-related issues, then be sure to consider doing your research, making your own or looking for better quality brands.

Today I will be sharing how to make:

  • Golden Hemp Mylk
  • Cashew Mylk
  • Vanilla Oat Mylk
  • Chocolate Almond Mylk

Golden Hemp Mylk

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup hemp seeds
  • 1 tsp Golden Milk Mix
  • 4 cups of water
  • 2-4 dates
  • Pinch of salt

Directions:

  1. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until well mixed
  2. Straining is optional
  3. Store in fridge for 3-5 days

Cashew Mylk

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup soaked raw cashews
  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 dates
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: vanilla

Directions:

  1. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until well mixed
  2. Strain using a nut mylk bag
  3. Store in fridge for 3-5 days

Vanilla Oat Mylk

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1 tsp (or more) of vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Directions:

  1. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until well mixed
  2. Strain using a nut mylk bag
  3. Store in fridge for 3-5 days

Chocolate Almon Mylk

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup soaked raw almonds
  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 tbsp of maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp cacao
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until well mixed
  2. Strain using a nut mylk bag
  3. Store in fridge for 3-5 days

Tip: start with half the maple syrup and cacao and taste before adding more. Feel free to play around with the sweetness and chocolate flavour.
