Amy Rohrer, Registered Yoga Teacher and owner of The Yoga Hut in Tillsonburg Ontario has been a lover, learner and student of yoga since her early twenties. After being in a car accident at the age of 21, it was recommended she try yoga to help rehabilitate. It was through this experience that she developed a deep respect for yoga which helped her recover from that accident.
However, six years later yoga truly became her saving grace and so much more than just the physical practice. After going through a health crisis and rock bottom, she decided to really dig deep into exploring why yoga was helping her feel better on so many levels. She took the leap of faith and moved to an ashram for three months to complete her 200 hr yoga teacher training, and everything started to shift with this new lens on life and what her pain had to teach her.
She has been teaching yoga now for over six years now, is certified in Hatha Yoga, Post Natal Yoga, Chair Yoga, Yin Yoga, and is also an Ayurvedic Wellness Counsellor. She is passionate about helping others integrate pain they may be experiencing, and ultimately create more freedom in their body & mind by holding a brave space for each individual to be their authentic selves and develop their own unique self care toolkit.
Amy firmly believes that challenges are not sent to us in life to destroy us, they are sent to strengthen us. Pain can be our greatest teacher, if we elect to change our thoughts around all that hurts. In her spare time you will find her cooking and eating yummy meals in the kitchen, travelling (ahhh one day again after Covid!) , being out in nature, snuggling with her hubby Brandon and kitten Murphy, and enjoying the things that make her feel most centred, in her heart, and free to be exactly who she wants to be!
