Our society is constantly being run down through long commutes, long work days, and constant stimulation from electronics.
We may find that we are fatigued, sleepy, or unable to fall asleep which therefore leads to more fatigue.
So how can we boost energy naturally?
01 DRINK MORE WATER
Drink more water to increase energy levels. Dehydration can impact body functions and make you feel more fatigued.
02 GET MORE SLEEP
This may seem obvious but many people who can’t figure out why they are always tired forget to sleep 8 hours a night. You may also want to focus on more restful sleep too. Sleep without phone and unwind before you got to sleep. Invest in a good and supportive pillow. You may think you are sleeping 8 hours a night but if you are restless you may not be getting enough ZZZs.
03 STRESS LESS
Stress and fatigue are closely tied together. Adrenal fatigue is a common culprit because the adrenal glands produce stress hormones which can make us feel fatigued when we are in these constant states of stress. This can lead to things like fatigue, anxiety, brain fog, etc. But adrenal fatigue isn’t the only way stress causes fatigue and can be linked to other body systems like the immune system, digestive and intestinal system.
Insufficient breathing or shallow breathing can lead to fatigue. Not enough oxygen may be reaching your cells.
05 IMPROVE DIGESTION
Poor digestive function may be a contributor to your constant fatigue. When our digestive system is suffering, we may not be absorbing nutrients properly.
06 CUT THE CRAP
When we don’t eat nutrient dense foods, then we aren’t supplying our bodies with the fuel it needs.
Quick Thai Noodle Bowl
Serves 1 (sauce makes a bit extra)
- 1 package of NuPasta or konjac noodle brand of your choice
- 1 cup of cooked shrimp
- 1 cup spiralized carrots or shredded is just fine
- 1 tbsp of green onion, diced
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 tsp red pepper chili flakes
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- 1 tbsp of sesame oil
- 1 tbsp of water if needed
- Add the avocado oil to a frying pan with garlic powder, green onion and carrots. Cook until the carrots start to soften
- In the meantime combine almond butter, chili flakes and sesame oil. If you need the sauce to be thinner you can slowly add some water or more oil. This amount of sauce will serve 1-2 people
- Once the carrots begin to soften, mix in konjac noodles and cooked shrimp. Let heat for a couple minutes.
- Remove from heat and drizzle with almond sauce
